Nairi Paterson is a partner at Burger, Meyer, & D’Angelo, LLP. She has over 24 years of experience defending commercial and individual clients in cases primarily involving transportation accidents, commercial and premises liability, and construction defect. Ms. Paterson is a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Torts. She is admitted to practice law in California and multiple federal courts including the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California and the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of California.
Prior to joining Burger, Meyer & D’Angelo, LLP, Ms. Paterson was an in-house trial attorney for a Fortune 500 Company, where she handled litigation from start through completion whether by trial, arbitration, mediation, motion, or settlement.
Ms. Paterson has successfully tried multiple cases to jury verdict. The overwhelming majority have resulted in defense verdicts (either no liability or verdicts far below pre-trial demands). One of her defense verdicts on a PTSD claim was published as a “Featured Verdict” in “Verdict Search California”. In another Verdict Search “Case of Note”, Plaintiff’s expert asserted she needed neck and back surgeries due to the accident. Plaintiff asked for nearly $1 million. That jury also rendered a defense verdict for Ms. Paterson and her client.
In addition to her trial wins, Ms. Paterson has resolved hundreds of cases via mediation and focused settlement negotiations.
Outside of work, Ms. Paterson enjoys hiking, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her husband, son, and dogs.
