Jessica Recarey-Valenzuela is an associate attorney in the Las Vegas office, with a focus on civil litigation defense, including premises liability, wrongful death matters, and motor vehicle accidents. She began her legal career as a judicial law clerk for Judge Joanna S. Kishner whose docket consisted of business court, civil matters, and construction defect matters. Following her time as a judicial law clerk, she gained valuable experience at a respected national firm focusing on civil litigation defense matters including catastrophic cases, and commercial litigation matters.
During law school, Ms. Recarey-Valenzuela earned two CALI Achievement awards in Lawyer Processing I and Advanced Legal Analysis and Writing which were both legal writing courses. She also earned the graduation honor of “Scribes, The American Society of Legal Writers”. She additionally served on the Nevada Law Journal as a Staffer then Articles Editor. Further, she served in several leadership positions in several law school organizations including the Organization of Women Law Students, the Public Interest Law Association, La Voz, and the Federal Bar Association Student Organization.
Prior becoming an attorney, she was a math teacher and Teach for America alumna in Las Vegas. She currently serves as a board member for Equipo Academy, the charter school where she taught to attending law school.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and three dogs.
