Melissa counsels insurers on complex and high-exposure claims. She is regularly called upon to advise clients on insurance law, policy interpretation, claims-handling issues, and to evaluate and respond to coverage disputes and allegations of bad faith. Melissa works diligently with clients to resolve disputes before litigation ensues. She is uniquely aware of the insurance business and the importance of preserving business relationships. However, when litigation is necessary or appropriate, she brings close to two decades of vast experience litigating coverage issues in state and federal court to achieve successful outcomes.

Melissa has served as in-house coverage counsel for a major insurer where she provided coverage advice and guidance to claim professionals for claims involving all Specialty Lines of insurance. She also practiced over a decade in an internationally-recognized law firm providing coverage advice and litigating on behalf of major insurers and businesses.

Melissa was a psychiatric nurse before practicing law, and currently maintains an active license as a registered nurse.
